The following crimes were reported to the Columbus Police Department for seven days beginning January 08, 2010:
Aggravated Robbery – January 8
1600 block of West Fifth Ave
A 16-year-old victim stated that she was at the Key Bank using the drive-up ATM on foot when the suspect ran up behind her and displayed a large knife and said “Give me the money!” When the victim stated that she didn’t know what to do, he repeated “Give me the money!” and when she asked how much, he stated “One hundred dollars.” The victim gave the suspect $100 and he then fled down the alley behind the bank.
Assault – January 10
1600 block of Glenn Ave
The victim stated in the police report that he was at his girlfriend’s house when the girlfriend’s husband banged on the door. The door was unlocked and the husband – the suspect – came into the residence. The victim stated that the suspect pushed him and started punching him in the head and kicking him. He got up and got away from suspect, but the suspect kept pushing him as he was leaving the residence. Suspect kept yelling at victim as he was leaving. The victim stated he drove away and called the police. He was not at scene when the police arrived, but stated that he had a bloody lip from the punches. The victim stated that his now ex-girlfriend called to officially breakup and the suspect grabbed the phone and left a threatening message on his voicemail.
Theft from a Vehicle– January 10
1300 block of West Fifth Ave
The victim stated that a leather jacket valued at $400 was taken from her car while it was in the car wash at Sax Car Wash. The reporting officer talked with staff who did not remember seeing the item and also checked the building, but the missing item was not found. Victim wished to have a report taken and only wanted her item back.
Vehicle Theft – January 11
1500 block of Northwest Blvd
Victim reported that his Ford Explorer was removed from the private parking lot at 1587 Northwest Blvd. by unknown offender(s). Broken glass on the pavement and in the snow indicates that the passenger front door window was smashed out to gain entry.
