Loops Greek Food Opens Wednesday at King and NW

Two brothers from Chicago are bringing their authentic Greek food to our little corner of Columbus, and am I glad they did! Loops is at the corner of King and Northwest in Fifth by Northwest, and officially opens Wednesday, September 8 at 11AM. We had the opportunity to stop in to their soft opening tonight. Andrew, treated my husband, my daughter and I to dinner. Here’s a quick video interview with Andrew, and some photos of our tasty food! If you stop by on Wednesday, tell them you saw them on 5xnw.com!

Leslie’s Creperie

On the way home from volunteering at a Crime Stoppers gig tonight, we passed a most unusual site on Fifth Ave. near the Twisted Vine: a food cart! Of course, we wanted to know what type of treats they were serving up, so we parked behind the Twisted Vine, I grabbed my trusty camera and went to find out just what wonderfulness had come to 5xnw.

Wonderfulness, indeed! Leslie’s Creperie just launched their mobile food business this week…and they launched in a big way, winning 3rd place Judge’s Choice at the Taste of Upper Arlington. Not bad considering all of the established restaurants and vendors competing there.

Leslie’s Creperie is owned by a husband and wife team (one half Greek, the other half Italian). Drawing on the popularity of the mobile food biz here in Columbus, they feel their crepes cart will be a good fit for the Grandview/5xnw area, but also plan to take their cart to campus. They offer a variety of crepes; some more suitable for breakfast, others for lunch or dinner.

Leslie's Creperie Menu

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to stop by and taste their yummy offerings. While you’re at it, be sure to say hi to them on Facebook where they’ll post their menu daily, and tell them who sent you!

If you’d like us to feature your 5xNW business, feel free to email Angie!

Pizza Crawl 2010 After Action Review

pizzalogo_short

I JUST got home from the 2010 Pizza Crawl here in 5xNW and man, am I beat! That was a blast! I hope you had a great time hanging out in Fifth by Northwest and meeting some new people. And by SOME new people…I mean a lot! We stopped counting at 85!! We thought we were topping out around 65, but when Bob and I actually got out to the shops ourselves, we met all kinds of people who simply didn’t start at Kroger.

For our first year, with little to no print advertising, we could not be happier about our Pizza Crawl. If you were there tonight, please 1) take our short survey so we get an idea of what you thought, and 2) feel free to leave any comments below or jump over the forum and chat away. If you’re going to tweet about it, you can tweet at me personally @angiemeeker, at the Fifth by Northwest Area Commission at @5thbyNW and by using the hashtag #pizzacrawl. Also, the Commission is on Facebook and online at http://www.fifthbynorthwest.org.

And one last thing – if you’re interested in helping the Commission make 5xNW a great place to live by checking out the opportunities to serve with the Commission, shoot them a note at info@fifthbynorthwest.org. If you’re interested in WRITING about what’s happening in Fifth by Northwest HERE at our site 5xnw.com, shoot ME a note at angie@5xnw.com.

Thanks again for a great night!
