Not technically in Fifth by Northwest? We’ve got you covered. Choose the “Neighbors” category below when you’re submitting your article. We want the friends of Fifth by Northwest to have an opportunity to share their news with us, too. Just know that these articles won’t get the “featured” spots on 5xNW.com because well…this IS about Fifth by Northwest after all! CONTRIBUTING TO THE SITE
What can I post?
Almost anything as long as you abide by the spirit of our family-friendly Web site. You and your neighbors are interested in news the way you define it – photos, opinions, upcoming events, meeting announcements, helpful hints, building developments and business news – whatever interests you.
How long do posts stay on the site?
Indefinitely. Some stories will be selected for the front page of the site, and those will change frequently. But even if they are moved off the front page to make room for something new, the story will remain on the site. You can find it using the search function, or by accessing the category in which it was published.
Who monitors the posting of stories and photographs?
5xnw.com staff will review submitted photographs before they are posted to ensure that they are appropriate contributions. Staff will also review stories and select some for the main page. All content published on 5xnw.com has been reviewed by a 5xnw.com staff member before publication, but if you see something offensive, please let us know. We will review it and remove content if need be.
How can I tell the difference between posts from 5xnw.com staff and my neighbors?
Stories and photos posted by staff will contain their names along with a line that identifies them as a 5xnw.com editor. Really though, we’re very much like you’re – we’re your neighbors simply looking to build our neighborhood through conversation.
I’d like to show my friends and family what I’ve written. Can I do that?
Yes! Click on the title of your story. To the right of your story you’ll see a row of buttons that says “Share This.” The various icons include a printer, an email icon, and links to most of the popular social media networks. Just click on the icon you want and follow the instructions that pop up for sharing your article.
